On November 1st, last season’s Premier League champions Liverpool will host Aston Villa at Anfield. The match will be officiated by referee Stuart Attwell.

For many football experts, Liverpool’s sudden decline remains a mystery. This slump can partly be explained by the large number of injuries and the poor form of star player Mohamed Salah. After a brilliant start with five consecutive wins, Arne Slot’s side went on a four-match losing streak, falling to Crystal Palace, Chelsea, Manchester United, and Brentford.

In contrast, the Birmingham club is currently enjoying excellent form. Aston Villa have recorded four straight victories, climbing to eighth place in the Premier League table, now level on points with Liverpool ahead of this 10th-round clash. Most notably, Villa have taken down two English giants in recent weeks—beating Manchester City at home and Tottenham Hotspur away.

Prediction for the Liverpool vs Aston Villa

All signs suggest that Aston Villa are in much better shape than Liverpool and should, at the very least, be able to secure a draw despite playing away. Normally, I rely strictly on statistics and objective facts when making a prediction. However, the Premier League is full of surprises that often defy logic. And perhaps this is a risk, but today I’m going with my instincts—and backing Liverpool to win.
