Matchday 17 promises a clash that could significantly affect the Premier League title race, as Everton host Arsenal at Hill Dickinson Stadium.

After 17 matches, Everton find themselves in the middle of the table, which fairly reflects their inconsistent form. The Liverpool-based side managed to pick up several wins in recent rounds, but their momentum came to a halt in London, where they suffered a clear 2–0 defeat to Chelsea.

Despite losing to Aston Villa in Matchday 15, Arsenal remain at the top of the Premier League standings, although their lead over the chasing pack has now been reduced to a minimum. Last week, the Gunners narrowly overcame the league’s bottom side Wolverhampton in a dramatic encounter. Arsenal almost threw away the victory after conceding an equaliser in the 90th minute but managed to score again in the 90+4 minute to secure all three points. Ironically, all the goals in that match were scored by Wolverhampton players, with Sam Johnstone and Yerson Mosquera both putting the ball into their own net.

Prediction for the Everton vs Arsenal

It is clear that Arsenal are starting to show signs of fatigue, with victories becoming harder to achieve and not always guaranteed. This is hardly surprising, as it is impossible to keep winning across all competitions without a drop in intensity. Even so, Arsenal should still have enough energy and quality to handle Everton away from home. For this reason, the logical choice here is a win for the visitors.
